Can Dexter top its success so far? Will the storyline continue to grip viewers? From the looks of the trailer, I’d imagine Season 5 will be as great as the previous four.

“Dexter” Season 4 Finale Shocker

“Dexter” Season 4 Finale Shocker

What a finale!  The fourth season of Dexter went out with a huge bang with the cat-and-mouse chase between Dexter and the Trinity Killer coming to a head.  It was just one thing after another all the way until the shocking final minutes!

First of all, Debra continued her investigation into her father’s past and finally came upon the file of Laura Moser.  She learned that Laura was the biological mother of both Dexter and Brian Moser, The Ice Truck Killer. … More »

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 11 Recap

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 11 Recap

I’m convinced that the Dexter writers have been threatened to win a bunch of awards for this season since every episode is getting better and better and BETTER!  Did you see it last night?!  Holy smokes!  I thought the last two weeks were amazing but this was insanely good.

Where to start… okay, LaGuerta and Batista are found out after a surveillance camera shows them making out in a liquor store before a robbery.  They get threatened with disciplinary action and,… More »

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 10 Recap

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 10 Recap

I thought Dexter was killer (pun intended) last week but tonight’s episode had me screaming – literally. It was absolutely crazy with intensity. We already knew from last episode that Christine is Trinity’s daughter but, of course, no one else really knew and we didn’t know the extent of her knowledge about her father’s murderous behavior.

Deb agrees to sit down with this witch and she asks Batista to watch the exchange, secretly of course.  When Deb pulls out… More »

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 9 Recap

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 9 Recap

Dexter was filled with little twists and big surprises last night.  What an episode!  I seriously cannot wait for next week to see what happens because there was so many questions raised.  Where do I even start?  As has been the case over the past couple weeks, I guess I’ll begin with the more mundane developments.

A decade ago, Batista promised a man that he would find his wife’s killer and, after the culprit is finally brought into the station, Batista… More »

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 8 Recap

"Dexter" Season 4, Episode 8 Recap

Last night’s episode of Dexter was crazy – literally.  There were all sorts of twists and hints at oddities that it’s hard to even know where to begin.  I guess we’ll just start with the more mundane stuff.

LaGuerta and Batista continued to have a hard time being around each other without ripping each other’s clothes off.  Eventually, the inevitable happened and they got it on in one of the conference rooms.  Of course, they are risking their careers but sometimes… More »

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 7 Recap

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 7 Recap

Last night’s episode of Dexter began with the arm of a female victim being found in the belly of an alligator.  One might assume that the animal was the culprit but wounds on the wrist showed that the woman had been murdered before she was fed to the gators.  After the victim was identified, Miami Homicide discovers that she was a model and was among several women who had disappeared after working with a certain photographer.  Meanwhile, Quinn’s… More »

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 6 Recap

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 6 Recap

Last night’s episode of Dexter began with the Trinity Killer singing in church of all places.  Dexter reviews all of the things about the man’s life that suggest he has a normal existence – wife, children, religion – with the exception of the serial killing, of course.

At home, Dexter is dealing with the fact that Rita is still angry about learning that he’s hung on to his apartment.  She has asked him to empty the place and has set up… More »

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 5 Recap

“Dexter” Season 4, Episode 5 Recap

Last night’s episode opened with Dexter running toward the crime scene where his sister Deb and Detective Lundy were gunned down.  Deb was being loaded into the back of an ambulance while Lundy was laying face down, dead, in the parking lot.  Of course, Dexter wondered what Deb and Lundy were doing together at a hotel at 5am but the looks on Batista and LaGuerta’s face explained it all.

At the hospital, Dexter tries to get Deb to tell him… More »

Showtime Launches “Dexter” Webisodes

Showtime Launches “Dexter” Webisodes

I really love Showtime’s hit show, Dexter, and now the network is premiering an exclusive animated webisode series about our favorite serial-killing blood spatter analyst.  Dexter:  Early Cuts is a twelve-part series told in four, one to two minute chapters.

The webisodes premiere today on www.sho.com and are meant to compliment the television series.  We all know the polished, methodical Dexter (although, recent fatherhood and sleep deprivation have thrown him off his game) but Early Cuts allows us to see how… More »

“Dexter” Season 4 Episode 3 Recap

“Dexter” Season 4 Episode 3 Recap

Last night’s episode of Dexter was all over the place which is fitting since I think Dexter’s world is a huge mess.  He’s trying so hard to figure out how to fit in with the other “normal” people that he actually ends up looking like a freak.  Fortunately, it’s not long before he discovers that he’s not alone.

After his house is vandalized with spray paint, he comes home to find Rita and all of their neighbors convened in his living… More »

“Dexter” Season 4: Episode 2 Recap

“Dexter” Season 4: Episode 2 Recap

Dexter was crazy intense last night.  I was stressed from the first minute to the very last second.

The episode started off with Dexter upside down in his car after his serious rollover accident.  He was taken to the hospital and, despite being warned of a possible head injury/concussion, he left with Rita (without telling her how serious the accident was) since he couldn’t remember what he did with Benny’s body.

Meanwhile, Lundy is still investigating the Trinity Killer case which brings… More »

“Dexter” and “Californication” Break Records

“Dexter” and “Californication” Break Records

Showtime is celebrating with good reason.  The season premieres of both Dexter and Californication debuted with record-breaking numbers for the shows.  In fact, the first episode of this fourth season of Dexter is the highest single-telecast delivery since they changed their ratings system in 2004.

I’m thrilled because I think that both of these shows are pretty outstanding and I’m glad that audiences agree.

Dexter pulled in 1.924 million viewers while Californication attracted 1.203 million.  That’s pretty amazing for cable television… More »

“Dexter” Season 4: Episode 1 Recap

“Dexter” Season 4: Episode 1 Recap

Dexter is back and I know that fans of the show were wondering how everything was going to work out this season.  He’s a serial killer who works as a blood splatter analyst for Miami Metro Homicide.  As if that isn’t complicated enough, this former loner got married and became a father since the end of last season.  How would Dexter juggle having a family while continuing to kill?  Turns out, it’s not so easy.

Dexter and Rita have moved out… More »

“Dexter” Unveils Season 4 Promo Pics!

“Dexter” Unveils Season 4 Promo Pics!

The fourth season of Dexter will begin on September 27, 2009 and I’m extremely excited, especially after seeing some production stills that Showtime has released.

In the photos, we get our first glimpse of Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Rita’s (Julie Benz) new baby boy, Harrison.  He looks about six months old in this picture so I’m guessing we will skip his early infancy but I’m hoping the season will begin with the birth.  It would be really interesting to hear… More »
