The album Gwyneth Paltrow is talking about is Coldplay’s fifth studio album, which is set to be released on October 24th. Coldplay has yet to give the album a name.

Coldplay Heading to “The Simpsons”

Over the show’s 20 seasons, The Simpsons have welcomed many musical guest stars and now the yellow-tinged cartoon versions of Coldplay will get their turn. According to MTV, the British musicians will put on a private show for Homer and Bart.

The episode will air during the upcoming 21st season of The Simpsons (no air date has been announced) when Homer wins a million dollars playing the lottery only to squander it on the private concert.

The new season will feature some other great guests including Seth Rogen, Sarah Silverman, Anne Hathaway, Neve Campbell and the late Eartha Kitt, who died last Christmas. No plot details on these episodes were immediately available.

I know it’s a bit off-topic but I’m wondering how many of you are still watching The Simpsons on a regular basis. Just earlier tonight I was complaining about how the show used to be funnier but I find it’s getting a little stale. I will watch the Coldplay episode, though.

Coldplay Accused of Plagiarism… Again!

It seems the song “Viva La Vida” is so good that everyone wants to claim it. This time, Cat Stevens, is alleging that Coldplay plagiarized his some “Foreigner Suite,” according to Britain’s Sun newspaper. “There’s been this argument about Coldplay stealing this melody from Joe Satriani, but, if you listen to it, it’s mine!” says Stevens. “It’s the ‘Foreigner Suite.’ “

Guitarist, Joe Satriani, initiated legal action against Coldplay alleging the band stole the chords from his
2004 song “If I Could Fly” and then a New York-based group called Creaky Boards claimed the song was similar to their “The Songs I Didn’t Write” (ironic title, isn’t it?).

People reports that Coldplay had the following statement: “We have not commented previously about the claims, and there will be no comment about this one.”

Maybe the comment, Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, made to Rolling Stone is most telling: “We’re definitely good, but I don’t think you can say we’re that original. I regard us as being incredibly good plagiarists.”

I am not exactly sure what that means but I’m beginning to wonder if Martin is truly a man of his word…

Coldplay Giving Away Free CDs on Tour

British group, Coldplay, is giving away an exclusive live CD away to all of the fans who come out to see them on their Viva La Vida tour this summer. The CD titled LeftRightLeftRightLeft will also be available as a free download during the same time period through their official website.

That’s incredible!!! I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to see them when they come to my city in June but this free CD might persuade me get some tickets. Have you heard the Viva La Vida album? I think it’s incredible. Of course, the song of the same name is the biggest hit from it but the other songs are also great and I think it just tells a story in a very touching and poignant way. I know some people think it’s a morbid album but I actually hear hope and the reminder to live life to the fullest when I listen to the songs.
