And it helps that both Pitbull and Chris Brown are extremely popular right now. Pitbull uses simple lyrics but his delivery is smooth and his voice is powerfull. Chris Brown, though troubled outside of the recording booth, has a great voice.

Why doesn’t Jay-Z like Chris Brown? Most likely, it has to do with Rihanna. Chris Brown infamously hit Rihanna in the face and Rihanna is a Jay-Z protege. Jay-Z apparently doesn’t take kindly to woman beaters.

Either that or Jay-Z was just laid back and didn’t want to waste the energy to clap his hands together. With Kanye West and Justin Bieber nearly losing it, there was more than enough excitement already.

Two suspects went up to Mars, the producer of the music video, and robbed him. They got away with cash and jewelry valued at over $12,000. According to Mars, a gun was involved in the robbery.

Thankfully for Chris Brown and The Game, they weren’t around the area of the robbery. Both artists have security … which is especially tight considering the music video shoot is in South L.A.

Does Justin Bieber have a rap future? I think he has the talent to add a few rap tracks to one of his next albums.

But yeah, Justin Bieber and Chris Brown together have good chemistry. They’re obviously both talented and would make a powerful duo if they ever decide to join forces.

When he began singing “Man in the Mirror,” Brown broke down. His voice cracked as he was crying, and he couldn’t sing. At one point, he even crumpled onto the stage.

Other highlights of the show included T.I.’s first TV performance since being released from prison at the end of last year and El DeBarge turning back the clock performing hits such as “Rhythm of the Night.” Kanye West, Usher, Drake, B.o.B., Keyshia Cole, Eminem, Alicia Keys, and others also performed.

Trey Songz was named best male R&B artist. Jay-Z led nominees with five nominations, while Beyonce, Keys, Songz and Melanie Fiona had four nominations each.

In a recent interview with W Magazine, she explains: “There were control issues, insecurity. When people are insecure, they become very controlling and they can get very aggressive and in turn abusive. It doesn’t have to be physical. Like, they would say bad stuff to you to make you feel lesser than them, just so they would have control in the relationship. It takes a big toll on your emotions and on your everyday life. It changes you.”

Some people have accused her of talking too much about the situation.  Chris Brown fans have even said that she’s exploiting her experience to ruin his career.  She has a different explanation for opening up: “At first, I completely shut down. But now I feel like this happened to me so I could be a voice for young girls who are going through what I went through and don’t know how to talk about it. It’s not about Chris, about hurting him or sabotaging his career. I don’t care about that part of it.”

That’s saying a lot coming from me since I really lost a lot of respect for him after his assault on his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, especially since it took so long for it to seem him like he was actually sorry (I’m still not entirely convinced).

Either way, the experiences of this past year are reflected in his music which is a little different than his usual sound.

After everything that has happened, people saw Rihanna as a victim and they wanted to see her come out of the situation stronger than ever.  While the world seemed to be disappointed in her decision to take Chris back, everything seemed to get back on track when she finally left him for good and went back into the studio to create a new album.  I had high hopes for the effort and believed she would deliver an emotionally charged collection of songs that would be representative of everything she’s been through.  I literally rolled my eyes in disgust when I learned that Chris Brown was also working on new music that would be released around the same time.

Rihanna is releasing her Rated R album this week and I’ve got to say that it sounds very cold, stark and hollow.  I was expecting more from her.  I would have been happier if she had just waited a while to put something out rather than release this depressing crap so I didn’t set my expectations too high for Chris’ stuff.

When I saw the video for “Crawl” which is off of his upcoming Graffiti album, I was completely stunned.  It could all be fake but the song appears to have some sort of warmth and genuine emotion.  The video is super high quality and I like it way more than anything I’ve seen from Rihanna recently.  Does that make me a bad person?

The singer’s third album, Graffiti, is currently slated for a December 15, 2009 release date and is the first major thing he’s done (aside from all that community service) since his altercation with his ex-girlfriend back in February.

The album’s first single, “I Can Transform Ya,” features Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz but he will be embarking on his “Fan Appreciation” November 14, 2009.

College: University of Colorado

Draft: 3rd round pick in 2003 (29th pick overall) by Tennessee

College Highlights: Brown started off his college football career at a junior college before being offered a scholarship to Northwestern University. They put him at the receiver position, which was a major factor in him leaving Northwestern to attend Colorado. There, he became one of the school’s all-time leading rushers, and in 2001 he broke the school’s record for most touchdowns in a single game (6 against Nebraska). In 2002, he was an early Heisman hopeful, but was injured late in the season, causing him to miss a few games. He decided to skip his senior year and enter the draft, although he was criticized for not being as powerful of a runner as some others in his position. Although he was deactivated for several games in 2006, he’ll hopefully get more playing time during this season!
