Consumer Reports has released their Best of 2010 list for vehicles and Asian automakers, Honda, Subaru and Toyota took the top three spots.

Record Number of Dealerships Closed in 2009
Last year was crushing for U.S. automotive dealerships – 1,605 dealerships closed in 2009 whic represents an 8% drop. It was a significant increase over the 881 that shut their doors in 2008. Some cities were hit harder than others. Hyundai Production Could Resume in Canada
Hyundai Canada could go back to producing vehicles in Canada after having a record year in 2009. The president of the company said that their final decision will depend on whether “sales volumes rise to a high enough level.”

Toyota Gives Okay to Massive Recall
Toyota is scrambling to maintain their image of safety in the auto industry this week. Record Attempt: Painting Car with Nail Polish
Some people really want to make it into the record books. Apparently British man, David Sheath is one of those people. Sheath is making a Guinness World Record attempt by hand-painting his entire car (Fiat 500) in pink nail polish.
His progress is being streamed live on the internet at www.pinkmyride.tv. The tedious project is expected to take at least a week, taking over 240,000 strokes of polish. Sheath is also communicating his viewers through Twitter.
