]]> So James Toback‘s documentary Tyson was all the rage at Cannes. Well, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were all the rage, but this film about Mike Tyson‘s life and career did get a favorable reception and win an award.

But . . . was it full of lies?

Former Tyson manager Steve Lott claims the answer is yes. (Thanks to reader Xavier for sending this our way). Lott, who was in the Tyson camp from 1985 to 1988, says the boxer’s pants are on fire in numerous spots throughout the film.

The bad news is, whether Tyson and Toback are stretching the truth or whether Lott simply cultivates a sour blend of grapes remains to be seen.

The good news is, our childhood Nintendo memories of Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out remain pristine and altogether untainted. (Hey, that game was fun).
