To judge, we’ll look at the person who gets the most retweets. While followers is nice, it’s easier to spam followers than it is to spam retweets. Thus, for this measurement, we’ll use retweets instead of followers.

And the winner?

None other than Justin Bieber. In 2011, the average Justin Bieber tweet got retweeted five million times. Wow! To put that in perspective, Barack Obama only gets retweeted about 250,000 times per tweet.

For better or worse, we live in a society where a pop star from Canada is more important than the president of the United States.

After the confirmed Anwar Al Awlaki death, President Barack Obama was excited: “The death of Awlaki is a major blow to Al Qaeda’s most active operational affiliate. He took the lead in planning and directing efforts to murder innocent Americans.”

Anwar Al Awlaki was especially dangerous because he was born in the United States and knew fluent English, which allowed him to recruit Americans to carry out his terror plots. He was also very active on the internet and went online to recruit more terrorists.

Anware Al Awlaki’s status with the U.S. government had been “kill or capture” for nearly two years.

I don’t know if Doug Lamborn is racist or just that stupid.

After his people heard his comment, Doug Lamborn’s camp eventually issued an apology.

“Congressman Lamborn regrets any misunderstanding,” said his spokesman. “He simply meant to refer to a sticky situation or quagmire.”

Doug Lamborn might want to use a thesaurus and start using phrases that aren’t used by racists on a regular basis.

However, that omission was rectified about five weeks later. Just now coming to light, Obama and Kevin Durant played basketball together in the middle of September. The Oklahoman, which first reported this story, also got quotes from the 22-year-old phenom.

Said Durant: “It was a good feeling to meet the president. Of course I always wanted to do that. Me being from D.C., it was pretty cool to see him. I was excited to get that opportunity. It’s something I’m always going to remember.”

Durant took four people with him: his mother and his grandmother along with James Harden and Eric Maynor, who of his Oklahoma Thunder teammates.

Said Durant of including his grandmother: “She’s been in D.C. for 60 years and never got to meet the president. Now we have the first African-American president, and that felt good for me to give her that opportunity.”

Currently, the Thunder are 3-2 and Durant is averaging 26.4 points per game.

The book was thrown at Obama because the man who wrote the book was mad that Obama didn’t read it. The Secret Service obviously tracked the man down but later said he didn’t pose a threat.

The naked man streaked by Obama as part of a one million dollar prize offered by BattleCam.com. The website, which is owned by billionaire Alki David, offered a brave soul the prize for being naked around Obama and screaming the name of the website six times. The naked man, named Juan James Rodriguez, will reportedly get the million dollars from Alki David and BattleCam.com in cash.

Drew Brees and the Saints, who beat the Indianapolis Colts by a final score of 37-17 in Super Bowl XLIV, presented the president with a No. 44 Saints jersey.

Said Obama: “These are big guys with big hearts, and shoulders big enough to carry the hopes and dreams of an entire city with them.”

Founded in 1967, not only was this the first Super Bowl victory for the Saints, it was the first time the team had even even been in the Super Bowl.

With press unable to view the event, there’s little to report on what actually happened. But we can assume that the NBA players made sure to give Obama a few extra passes. Then again, there aren’t many opportunities to school the leader of the free world so the players may have gone all out.

After the shooting hoops with the stars, Obama held a barbecue dinner. According to reports, a number of players were invited to get their grub on.

Where was Michelle Obama and his two daughters? They were on vacation. With the wife and kids away, Obama had the ultimate fantasy camp for the basketball fan. And a few American heroes got to witness the event.

In addition to the focus on jobs, the President used his State of the Union to accept responsibility for some of the mistakes he made during his first year in office, and to express hope for the future. He also unveiled plans for education reform and clean energy technology development, and re-emphasized his push for health care reform and financial regulation reform.

All in all, it was a speech chock full of ideas, and a chance for the President to showcase the fact that he has been trying to listen to the people, and take their concerns to heart. Now, it will be interesting to see whether any of the President’s plans become a reality.

Gathering 130 people together — business people, union leaders, and economists — at the White House is one way he hopes to get input on what can be done to increase the effectiveness of the jobs efforts in the stimulus package passed earlier this year. While there isn’t a whole lot that can be done immediately, there are hopes that measures and policies can be adopted to help move this economy in a direction that leads away from the dreaded “jobless recovery” and helps the employment picture for 2010.

There is also hope that improvement to the business outlook can translate into more jobs and maybe even raises. With Bank of America ready to repay TARP, and with other companies becoming profitable, there are hopes that hiring could start soon. But we will have to see. It may be that companies become too used to the profits they enjoy after cutting the workforce.
