I found the movie poster for 27 Dresses on the Movie Marketing Madness blog today, and I think it's great. The poster features Katherine Heigl, the movie's star, wearing the movie's credits. Check out how the credits appear to be handwritten to look like her dress. I love this poster, and kudos to 20th Century Fox for approving it!

Movie posters generally blend into each other. Does anyone ever actually read all the text at the bottom of them? I know... More »
Post from: EveryJoe

Movie posters generally blend into each other. Does anyone ever actually read all the text at the bottom of them? I know I don’t. To consumers, it’s wasted space (of course, that’s not how the people behind the film feel). I might look to see who the main actors are, and I’ll look at the picture, but typically, all movie posters look the same. The 27 Dresses promo poster breaks all the conventional rules, and will undoubtedly stand out and bring awareness and interest to the brand!

What do you think? Love the new poster look or prefer traditional layouts?
