The weather might be the MVP of the 2011 baseball playoffs. It seems like every series has been affected by rain — and the World Series is no different. Baseball was forced to postpone Game 6 and play it on Thursday night.
If the Texas Rangers win on Thursday, they will be the World Series champions. If the St. Louis Cardinals win Game 6 and force a Game 7, that contest will be played on Friday night.
For Game 6, Colby Lewis was scheduled to start for Texas, while the Cardinals were going with Jaime Garcia. Will the managers change things up now that there is an extra day of rest? We’ll have to find out.
Thankfully, weather isn’t expected to be a problem on Thursday. The skies are supposed to be clear and the temperature reasonable. However, this postseason, you should never count on the weather cooperating.
