Why Does Shaq Hate Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?

In a new book that is to hit shelves on Tuesday, Shaquille O’Neal went off on of people. Some targets weren’t surprising (Kobe Bryant), while some were surprising — including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Why does Shaq hate Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?

“Kareem was never around,” explains Shaq in the ‘Shaq Uncut: My Story’. “And, whenever I did see him, he usually ignored me.”

Both Shaq and Kareem are best known for their time spent with the Los Angeles Lakers.

“He knew everyone was comparing me to him. He knew better than anyone what I was up against, but he gave me nothing.”

In response, Kareem says that it was a case of miscommunication.

Said Kareem: “If I had any idea that Shaq wanted to learn from me, I would have been happy to have worked with him, but all indications that I had received was that he felt he was doing fine and he didn’t need or want my help.”
