Zach Randolph might be the most quietly dominant bigman in the NBA. The large power forward for the Memphis Grizzlies was loud on Sunday as his 17-foot rainbow shot with 0.3 seconds remaining beat the Dallas Mavericks. The 104-103 victory improved the Grizzlies to 35-29 and snapped the Mavs’ eight game winning streak. Watch the Zach Randolph game winning jumper in the video below.
With less than 15 seconds remaining, Shane Battier scored to put the Grizzlies up by a point. Dirk Nowitzki responded for the Mavs with a 15-footer with three seconds to go. That’s when Zach Randolph hit his difficult jumper for the win.
For the game, Zach Randolph was 10-for-13 from the field on his way to 27 points and nine rebounds. Marc Gasol chipped in 16 points and ten rebounds as the Grizzlies used a 41-23 third quarter to an 18-point Dallas advantage.
The Mavs were led by Jason Terry’s 26 points off the bench. Nowitzki added 23 points. The Mavs, 45-17, are now only one-game ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers for the second seed in the Western Conference standings.
