With the game tied 5-5, the San Francisco Giants had a runner on third base with one out. Juan Uribe was at the plate and just needed a sacrifice fly to win the game. Up against Roy Oswalt, Juan Uribe was able to get that sac fly to give the Giants a 6-5 victory and a 3-1 lead in the NLCS. Video of Juan Uribe’s sac fly can be seen below.
That Uribe was even able to hit was a minor miracle for the Giants. A sore wrist has severely limited him — in fact, it kept him out of the starting lineup.
“In that moment, everybody knew my wrist was hurting a little bit,” said Uribe. “I think that’s why he threw a lot of fastballs in because he knew. I was trying to hit the ball deep enough to get the run home and for us to win the game.”
On Thursday, the Giants send Tim Lincecum to the mound against Phillies ace Roy Halladay. One more win and the Giants are headed to the 2010 World Series.
