The Georgetown Hoyas basketball team was on a tour through China playing hoops against local teams. Unfortunately, it turned violent as Georgetown brawled with a Chinese team on Thursday. You can see the Georgetown brawl video in China below.
According to reports, the game was very rough and tumble — with the Chinese team getting most of the calls. In the second half, things boiled over. Punches were thrown and even the fans got involved by throwing objects at Georgetown players.
Said John Thompson III, the head coach at Georgetown: “Tonight, two great teams played a very competitive game that unfortunately ended after heated exchanges with both teams. We sincerely regret that this situation occurred.”
The Georgetown basketball team returns to the United States on Friday.
This basketball brawl video could have a major impact on what NBA players decide to do during the lockout. There could be second-guessing about going on a Chinese basketball tour.
