Video: Derrick Rose Scores 44 as Bulls Roll

Heading into a pivotal Game 3, the Atlanta Hawks were talking a bunch of trash. The top seeded Chicago Bulls, specifically Derrick Rose, silenced the Hawks as they won by a final score of 99-82 to take a 2-1 lead in the series. In 38 minutes, Derrick scored 44 points, handed out seven assists, grabbed five rebounds and turned the ball over only twice.

Perhaps most impressively, Derrick Rose did his damage without hogging the ball. He was 16-of-27 from the field, 4-for-7 on three-pointers and 8-for-9 at the line. To say Derrick Rose carried the Bulls would be putting it lightly as no other player on the team scored more than 13 points. In fact, no other starter had more than seven points.

For the Hawks, they have now lost the advantage they gained by winning Game 1. Jeff Teague, who started at point guard for the injured Kirk Hinrich, scored 21 points. Josh Smith added 17 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and four blocks. However, the rest of the team struggled — especially Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford, who combined to score 17 points.

Game 4 will take place on Sunday. The Hawks need a win to keep their realistic hopes alive.
