Usain Bolt was about to win another 100 meter race. But, unfortunately, a stupid new rule got him disqualified. Usain Bolt jumped the gun and was kicked out of the finals in a new rule that took away the false start warning.
Hands down the best sprinter in the world — if not the best track and field athlete of any kind — the Jamaican wasn’t too upset after the disqualification. He knew, as well as we know, that he’s the best of the best. A stupid rule won’t change that.
Yohan Blake of Jamaica ended up winning the gold at a time of 9.92 seconds. That’s pretty fast — although turtle-like compared to Usain Bolt’s record of 9.58 seconds.
Let’s hope that this stupid rule gets fixed before the 2012 London Olympic Games. The last thing we need to happen there is a repeat of this unfortunate situation.
