Urban Meyer Joins ESPN

The recently retired Urban Meyer was never outgoing with the press when he was leading the Florida Gators. Now he’ll get a taste of the other side after signing a contract to work for ESPN. His duties will include color commentary in addition to studio analysis. The 46-year-old has a coaching record of 104-23 with Floria, Utah and Bowling Green.

Said Meyer, who hasn’t ruled a return to coaching college football again one day: “It’s a great opportunity to stay around the game.”

So will Meyer enjoy the freedom to criticize others as he was criticized at times during his stint as the head coach of a two-time national champion?

“I don’t think it’s my job to be critical,” said Meyer, “it’s my job to analyze college football.”
