10. It has the longest season amongst professional sports in America.
9. For a “hillbilly sport”, NASCAR drivers’ wives are surprisingly … well, hot. (Yes, I’m aware of the exceptions)
8. With the exception of NFL lineman, it’s the only sport that allows men of obese nature to still be treated as talented athletes.
7. It’s the most patriotic sport on the map. The pre-race ceremonies each and every week speak for themselves.
6. Tailgaiting at a NASCAR event is definitely the only place I have ever spent > $100 in one night racing remote controlled cars.
5. One of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history is openly nicknamed “The Rainbow Warrior”. You can’t beat that.
4. The “Silly Season” in other sports pales in comparison to the excitement and intrigue delivered by NASCAR between November and February.
3. Pictures of the past three Cup championships are always hanging up somewhere in hardware department stores.

Liz, you sound like a dream-come-true for about half the NASCAR fans out there … of course, the other half would probably rather you waive the Confederate flag, join the Klan, grow out a mullet, and leave your shoes at the door when you make that 8am beer run. lol
I’m an intelligent, well-educated woman, and a proud NASCAR fan. I enjoy the physics of driving, the power and speed of the cars, the skill of the drivers and crew, and yes, even the wrecks as long as no one gets hurt. I don’t own any clothes or collectibles emblazoned with Confederate flags, I’m not a Klan member, I don’t wear a mullet, I don’t shop barefooted for beer at 8am in convenience stores, and I do not qualify as a redneck in any other way. However, I do attend several races a year, and I do camp out at the track. I’m not embarrassed by my love of the sport, but I am pissed that my friends and acquaintances find it necessary to give me a hard time about NASCAR. Yes, I NASCAR.
