Terrell Owens Shines for Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals took a gamble when they signed Terrell Owens. The talkative wide receiver was brought on board to spread defenses and help ignite the Bengals offense. In a preseason game on Friday against the Philadelphia Eagles, Owens did just that as the Bengals coasted to a 22-9 victory.

Owens finished the game with three catches for 67 yards. His big play was a 43-yard reception that led to the contest’s first touchdown.

Said Owens: “That’s what they brought me here for, right? Deep threat — beat your guy, get down the field, make the catch.”

Now 36 years old, this could very well be T.O.’s final shot to prove he can contribute to an NFL team. He had a lackluster season last year with the Buffalo Bills and it took him a while to find a job during this offseason. It’s now or never for Owens — and so far, so good.
