After getting cut from the Seattle Seahawks, T.J. Houshmandzadeh had a lot of suitors. When all was said and done, Houshmandzadeh decided to sign with the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens add to their growing wide receiving talent, while Houshmandzadeh goes to a team with a legit shot to win a Super Bowl championship.
Houshmandzadeh says Ray Lewis should be credited for wooing him to Baltimore.
“Ray said, ‘If you want to win, this is the place to be.’ The way he is on the field is how he is off the field: Passionate. Our conversation was passionate and insightful,” Houshmandzadeh told USA Today.
To go along with Houshmandzadeh, the Ravens have Derrick Mason, Anquan Boldin and Donte Stallworth at wide receiver. In past season, the Ravens have had depth problems at receiver — that won’t be the case this year.
Houshmandzadeh became a star with the Cincinnati Bengals while playing next to Chad Johnson. He left for the Seahawks in free agency last offseason, however that move ended up being a bust for Seattle. The 32-year-old Houshmandzadeh will look to revive his career with the Ravens while attempting to bring a Super Bowl trophy to town.
