As Steve Williams helped Adam Scott win, Tiger Woods was busy finishing 37th overall. And it wasn’t even that close — Tiger lost by 18 strokes.
What did this victory mean to Steve Williams?
“That’s the best win I’ve ever had,” said Steve Williams. That’s saying a lot considering all the success he had with Tiger Woods.
After the win, it was quite the unique seen to see Steve Williams get more love from the press than Adam Scott. Everyone was asking how Steve Williams reacted to getting fired by Tiger Woods.
Admitted Steve Williams: “I was absolutely shocked that I got the boot, to be honest with you. I’ve been incredibly loyal to the guy.”
“Very disappointed.”
On Sunday, that disappointment turned into joy.
