Spurs Lose Third Straight Sans Tim Duncan

Even though Tim Duncan doesn’t put up the stats he used to, he’s still one of the best players in the NBA. Need proof? Check out what is happening to the San Antonio Spurs. Tim Duncan has missed the last three games due to a sprained ankle. In those games, the Spurs are 0-3. Their latest lost came on Sunday in Memphis against the Grizzlies.

The game was tight late before Zach Randolph took over. The Grizzlies power forward finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Tony Allen had 23 points, four rebounds and five steals on 9-for-10 shooting from the field. OJ Mayo chipped in with 17 points off the bench.

For San Antonio, the news got even worse. Manu Ginobili got injured during the second quarter. His injury is being called a quad contusion at this point. Heading into Monday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Spurs may be without both Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. Not good.

Even though the Spurs at 57-16 still have the best record in the NBA, things are getting uncomfortable in South Texas.
