Last year in the playoffs, the Memphis Grizzlies shocked the world when they defeated the San Antonio Spurs in the first round. The Grizzlies were the eighth seed and the Spurs were the first seed. It was only the fourth time in NBA history that an eighth seed had beaten a first seed.
But so far this season, the Spurs have been able to get their revenge. For the second time, the Spurs defeated the Grizzlies. This time, the game was in Memphis. San Antonio cruised to a 83-73 win.
The Spurs had five players in double-figures; Matt Bonner led the way with 15 points. Tony Parker, who is making a push for an All-Star bid, chipped in with five points, 12 assists and five rebounds.
The Grizzlies, on the other hand, shot only 37% as a team. They never seemed to find their rhythm. And now, suddenly, it looks like the Spurs have turned the tables on them.
