Joe Posnanski, a sports reporter at the Kansas City Star, has started a blog. His latest entry attempts to identify the fastest players in baseball. Posnanski keeps his methods secret, but there are no real surprises.
Some of these guys possess blinding speed. When I say “blinding speed,” I mean speed that blinds decision-makers to the cold reality that Willy Taveras and Juan Pierre are subpar players who shouldn’t be able to land a starting job in the big leagues.
