The Chicago Bulls hadn’t lost at home since Jan. 18 against the Charlotte Bobcats. On Monday, the Philadelphia 76ers ended that streak by handing the Bulls a 97-85 defeat. The Sixers built a big first half lead and then held on late to improve to 38-36 on the season. The loss dropped the Bulls to 53-20.
NBA MVP favorite Derrick Rose had 31 points and five assists, however he was blaming himself for the loss at the end of the night. Why? He had ten turnovers and played sloppy basketball for much of the night.
Said Rose: “We came out sluggish. This one is definitely on me.”
The Sixers were powered by Andre Iguodala, who totaled 19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 40 minutes. Off the bench, Thaddeus Young had 21 points, seven rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals.
The Sixers remain two games up on the New York Knicks for the sixth seed in the East, while the Bulls are still up two games on the Boston Celtics for the top spot in the conference.
