Sidney Crosby Injury Update – Concussion

Sidney Crosby, the best hockey player on earth, will be sidelined for the next week due to a concussion. The injury happened on Wednesday during the Pittsburgh Penguins 8-1 destruction of the Tampa Bay Lightning. These will be the first games the 23-year-old will miss during the 2010-11 NHL season.

Currently, the Penguins lead the Eastern Conference with a record of 26-12-4. Their goal differential of +39 is the best mark in all of hockey. Coach Dan Bylsma hopes things won’t be much different without the NHL’s best player.

Said Bylsma: “We play 40 minutes a game without Sid on the ice so we’re comfortable with knowing how we need to play and how it’s going to be. We’re going to keep playing exactly that same way and figuring out ways to win hockey games.”

Crosby leads the NHL in points (66) and goals (32). His 34 assists are second best in the league.
