Shorthanded Bucks Bash Lakers

The Milwaukee Bucks were missing two of their better players on Saturday when hosting the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite being shorthanded, the Bucks handed the Lakers another road loss by a final score of 100-89.

Andrew Bogut will miss up to the next three months with a broken ankle. Stephen Jackson was suspended due to a confrontation with a ref. But it didn’t matter.

“Bogut’s not going to come in with a better ankle,” said Mike Dunleavy after the game. “We’re not going to get Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. So we know that we’ve got to play these big guys with guys with lesser size, but you do it with hard work and toughness.”

Drew Gooden led the way for the Bucks with 23 points and eight rebounds. Off the bench, Milwaukee got 15 points from both Dunleavy and Ersan Ilyasova.

The Lakers, who dropped to 1-7 on the road, lost despite getting 27 points, nine assists and eight rebounds from the ageless Kobe Bryant.
