Shaquille O’Neal has been out injured since February 1st with multiple right foot ailments. Whenever he’s able to get healthy and return, expect him to start at center for the Boston Celtics. The question is when will Shaquille O’Neal be ready to go. The good news for Shaq and the Celtics is it sounds like the Big Bostonian should be back within a couple weeks.
Originally, Shaq was aiming for a return on April 1st against the Atlanta Hawks. However, he had a setback recently that required a cortisone shot. Now the new goal is for Shaq to return on April 5th against the Philadelphia 76ers. If he’s able to come back to action that day, Shaq would have a total of six games to get ready for the 2011 NBA playoffs.
The Celtics really do miss Shaq. After winning five straight games, the Celtics have lost six of their last ten games — including their last two.
On the season, Shaq is averaging 9.3 points and 4.9 rebounds while shooting 66.2% from the field.
