Outside of Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski has been the best player this year on the New England Patriots. Unfortunately for the Patriots, Gronkowski is unlikely to be 100% during the Super Bowl due to a high ankle sprain. In fact, it’s uncertain at this point whether he’ll even play.
Over the weekend, Gronkowski was seen wearing a walking boot. The Patriots aren’t saying much other than to claim that the star tight end is day to day, however he has now missed three straight practices.
In 2011, Gronkowski had perhaps the best season by a tight end in the history of the NFL. He totaled 90 receptions for 1327 yards and 17 touchdowns. In the Super Bowl, Brady would look for him early and often.
But as of right now, we just don’t know if Gronkowski will be able to take the field. If he can’t go, the Giants surely won’t complain.

Rob Gronkowski is having a marvelous season on and off the field
