Rex Ryan talks big. Against the Indianapolis Colts, his New York Jets were able to walk the walk. With a 32-yard field goal as time expired, the Jets beat the Colts by a final score of 17-16. Nick Folk’s field goal answered a 50-yarder by Adam Vinatieri with less than a minute remaining. The Jets now advance to play the New England Patriots next week.
After the game, Rex Ryan was acting like it was Thanksgiving.
“I mean really, I’m just thankful for the men I coach,” said Ryan. “Thankful for the two backs we got, that pounded it in there. Thankful for that coaching staff. Thankful for Nick Folk, and I’m thankful that I finally got to beat Peyton Manning.”
LaDainian Tomlinson had 82 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Mark Sanchez had 189 yards through the air. Darrelle Revis was able to hold superstar Reggie Wayne to one yard on one catch.
Said Peyton Manning, who had 225 passing yards and a touchdown: “It’s certainly disappointing tonight and that’s really all you think about tonight. It’s disappointing with the way we lost tonight. Any time you lose on a last-second field goal, it certainly stings.”
