Oscar De La Hoya, one of the most popular boxers of his generation, is headed to rehab. Complete details aren’t known yet but the rehab is reportedly for a substance abuse problem. The rehab facility is located in California. It’s estimated that he entered the rehab program within the last few weeks.
Oscar De La Hoya is calling his rehab stint “proactive” and admitted to having flaws.
“Throughout my career and my life,” Oscar De La Hoya told TMZ, “I have always met all challenges head-on, and this is no different. I am confident that with the support of my family and friends, I will become a stronger, healthier person.”
Although he retired as a fighter in 2009, Oscar De La Hoya remains a powerful force in the industry. Let’s hope he defeats whatever problems he is facing.
