Red Sox Players Hate Bobby Valentine Already?

The Boston Red Sox crumbled in September as rumors ran rampant that manager Terry Francona had let the lockerroom become too wild. Beer drinking and fried chicken eating reportedly took place in the lockerroom. That led to Terry Francona’s firing.

With discipline in mind, the Red Sox hired Bobby Valentine. However, that decision apparently doesn’t sit well with some Red Sox players.

“They’re going to have a mess on their hands,” is a quote from ESPN.com allegedly from a Red Sox player when asked about Bobby V’s hiring.

Another ESPN reports said that Red Sox players were talking to each other and upset with the hire.

If the Red Sox players can’t handle a little bit of discipline, that doesn’t say much about team chemistry. It might take another trip to the dark ages for Boston to realize how special it was to win two World Series championships in recent years.
