The New York Jets love to talk. All offseason, all we’ve heard out of the Jets is how they are going to win, win and win some more. But in Week 1 of the 2010 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens put some tape of the Jets’ mouths. In a bloody slugfest, the Ravens ended up with a 10-9 win over the Jets.
The Ravens one touchdown was a one-yard run by Willis McGahee in the second quarter. But the story of the game was Baltimore’s stout defense (or, if you prefer, New York’s putrid offense). Mark Sanchez was completely bottled by the Ravens, finishing 10-for-21 with 74 passing yards.
For the Ravens, Anquan Boldin showed the world why the Ravens gave him a big contract in the offseason. The star wide receiver finished with seven catches and 110 yard in his Baltimore debut.
Ray Lewis, who also likes to flap his gums, got the last word.
“We knew the tradition and the respect that Rex (Ryan) wanted to bring to the Jets,” said Lewis. “The bottom line is: Let’s just play football.

This was a big win for the Ravens who seem to have answered the preseason questions about their secondary. Holding the Jets to 60 yards passing is quite an achievement.
