An MRI showed good news and bad news for Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys. The good news: he has only one broken rib (it was originally thought he had two broken ribs). The bad news: Romo has a punctured lung.
While a punctured lung is nothing to joke about, it sounds as if the Cowboys expect Romo to play in Week 3. He’ll have to wear extra protection around his chest and take a few pain killer injections, however the expectation is that the quarterback will be able tough it out.
So far, Romo has been great this season. He has a QB rating of 108.8 in the first two games and has 687 passing yards to go along with four touchdown passes and only one interception.
In Week 3, the Cowboys host the 2-0 Washington Redskins. With a win, Dallas will move into a tie for first place in the NFC East.
If Romo can’t play, Jon Kitna will get the start.
