Lawrence Frank is the new head coach of the Detroit Pistons. Frank will get a chance to turn around a franchise that was a near dynasty not too long ago. However, in the last few years, Detroit has fallen on rough times.
Enter Lawrence Frank.
Frank is the former head coach of the New Jersey Nets. Last season, he served as the head assistant for Doc Rivers and the Boston Celtics.
The Pistons looked at a number of candidates including Mike Woodson, Patrick Ewing, Bill Laimbeer and Kelvin Sampson. In the end, Detroit decided to give the job to a head coach who has a reputation of being smart, energetic and a tireless worker.
Can Frank turn the Pistons around? It’s going to be a tough job … but he may be up to it.
