Peyton Manning Out for the Season?

The latest talk out of Indianapolis is that Peyton Manning could be out for the season. While not a huge surprise considering the future Hall of Fame quarterback underwent neck surgery recently, it was surprising to hear Colts owner Jim Irsay talk about how Manning is not expected back this season.

Without Manning, the Colts have struggled — which everyone could see coming. They are 0-3 without arguably the best player in all of football. In the best case scenario, Manning could come back in December. But even if he does, the Colts postseason hopes will be long gone.

To add to the woes for the Colts, backup quarterback Kerry Collins got injured in Week 3. Now Indianapolis will be forced to lean on third string QB Curtis Painter.

In Week 4, the Colts travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers in what promises to be another difficult game for the franchise without its face.
