Peyton Manning Injury Update – Fantasy Football Impact

For fantasy football owners around the globe, Monday was a good day. Peyton Manning, arguably the best fantasy quarterback of the last decade, was activated by the Indianapolis Colts. Manning was cleared to practice on a limited basis.

That said, Manning still doesn’t know when he will actually play in a game. However, he has ruled himself out of the last preseason game for the Colts.

Explained Manning: “I have to be able to play competitively to play because I have too much respect for this game. I have to do what’s fair for the team.”

Personally, I think Manning will play in Week 1. He’s as tough as any quarterback in the league and he doesn’t need any practice to be ready to go. That said, if you draft Manning in your fantasy football team, you should handcuff him with a quality backup. Going with the Colts backup QB is another option, whether it be Curtis Painter or Kerry Collins.
