Peyton Hillis has had a very interesting couple seasons with the Cleveland Browns. In 2010, Hillis took the league by storm and was one of the best running backs in the league. Heading into the 2011 campaign, big things were expected out of him. However, he struggled mightily on the field and clashed with teammates off the field.
After the season, Hillis (who was on the cover of the latest Madden video game) said that he thought he was a victim of the Madden curse. That was just another weird twist to the Hillis story.
While it looked like his time in Cleveland was over following his poor play and poor standing with teammates, rumors indicate that Hillis may be back for another season. The Cleveland Plan Dealer says that the team hasn’t closed the door on Hillis and would be open to signing him if the price is right.
Considering that Hillis rushed for only 587 yards last season on 161 carries, don’t be surprised if the market dries up and he heads back to Cleveland on a cheap deal.
