Patriots Cut Albert Haynesworth

Once considered the most dominating defensive force in the NFL, Albert Haynesworth is out of a job after being released by the New England Patriots. The troubled defensive tackle simply couldn’t stay healthy or produce in his first year with the Patriots. Haynesworth now faces an uphill challenge to ever become a noteworthy NFL player again.

When Haynesworth joined the Patriots, expectations were high. Many experts thought that New England would be able to keep Haynesworth on the straight and narrow while allowing him to once again blossom as a football player. That, obviously, didn’t happen.

Since he’s still only 30 years old, Haynesworth will undoubtedly get another shot. But his next team will have an extremely short leash. If he didn’t work out in New England, how will he flourish anywhere else? That’s the question that will dog Haynesworth from now on.
