The MeloDrama is finally over. According to the Denver Post, Carmelo Anthony has officially been traded to the New York Knicks. Carmelo Anthony has to be ecstatic because he wanted to go to the Knicks all along. The Knicks have to be happy because they landed their man. The big losers? The New Jersey Nets. They tried hard to land Carmelo but came up short.
Along with Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks also get Chauncey Billups, Anthony Carter, Shelden Williams and Renaldo Balkman. In return, the Knicks are sending the Nuggets the following package: Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, a 2014 first round draft pick, two second round draft picks and three million dollars in cash.
Expect the Nuggets to stay active between now and Thursday’s NBA trade deadline. This should also start a domino effect with trades going down left and right. But let’s all be thankful that the MeloDrama is finally over.
