Nnamdi Asomugha to the Cowboys?

Nnamdi Asomugha is the most sought after free agent on the open market. He’s arguably the best cornerback in the NFL and is free to sign with any team in the league. Who will Nnamdi Asomugha sign with? Right now, it looks like Nnamdi Asomugha is going to sign with the Dallas Cowboys.

Early Friday, NFL sources said that the bidding war over Nnamdi Asomugha was between the Cowboys and the New York Jets. However, the Jets reportedly dropped out of the chase late Friday. That leaves one team to sign Nnamdi Asomugha — the Cowboys.

There is a possibility that a darkhorse team could come out of nowhere and offer Nnamdi Asomugha a contract he can’t refuse. Darkhorse candidates include the Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers.

Don’t count out the chances of Nnamdi Asomugha going back to the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders don’t want to lose him; it’d be both an embarrassment and a huge loss on the field.

All that said, Nnamdi Asomugha signing with the Dallas Cowboys seems to be the most likely scenario at this point.
