NFL Power Rankings – Week 9

As we head into Week 9 of the 2011 NFL season, let’s take a look at the latest power rankings. These are the ten best football teams on the planet. While there is a lot of parity this year, there are definitely a handful of teams that make up the cream of the crop.

1. Green Bay Packers (7-0)
There’s no doubt which team deserves to be ranked No. 1. The defending champs are undefeated … enough said.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2)
The Steelers, who lost to the Packers in the Super Bowl last year, are coming off of a very impressive win over the Patriots.

3. New England Patriots (5-2)
Yeah, their defense sucks. Yeah, they just lost. But the Patriots are a team no other squad looks forward to playing.

4. Baltimore Ravens (5-2)
The offense woke up this week. The defense, like usual, continues to be great.

5. New Orleans Saints (5-3)
The Saints just got beaten by the lowly Rams. However, when they’re clicking, the Saints are definitely elite.

6. Philadelphia Eagles (3-4)
Winners of two straight, the Eagles killed the Cowboys last night. A few more weeks like that and the Eagles could crack the top 3.

7. New York Jets (4-3)
After a few early hiccups, the Jets are starting to put things together. This is a team to watch down the stretch.

8. San Diego Chargers (4-2)
If Philip Rivers can turn it around, this team can be legit. If not, it’ll be another long offseason in San Diego.

9. Detroit Lions (6-2)
With the amount of talent the Lions have on both sides of the ball, there is finally hope in Detroit once again.

10. New York Giants (5-2)
The Giants schedule is very tough going forward. We’ll quickly learn whether or not they are for real this season.

i like this blog. popped up in my reader as a surprise and I read here and there but now I’m not too sure about the opinion contents like these rankings. the 9ers have one loss and have beaten two of your “ranked” teams.

your not a unique snowflake in the hundreds of power rankings buddy. i’d like to hear the reason for keeping them out? Reason why, i just question who is writing this kind of stuff to see if this blog is worth my time cause let’s face it, everyone can publish the latest news, it’s the opinion writing that is worth the salt in this game.

I think you are way off.

First of all: Get the Jets and the Eagles out of the Top 10
Second: Add the 49ers and the Falcons
Third: Move the Lions up a few spots and move the Pats down a few.

What a joke… how are you going to rank the jets, eagles, and chargers above the texans lol. your justifications are all about how much potential those teams have. i’m pretty sure a johnson returning to the texans smashes every one of those teams, not to mention that they crushed pittsburgh which is your #2…
