NBA Power Rankings – Season Starts

Even though the 2011-12 NBA season is less than a week old, we are already seeing the cream starting to rise to the top. Some teams are surprisingly bad, while a number of teams are better than pundits projected. So which ten teams are the best teams in the NBA?

Here’s our NBA power rankings:

1. Oklahoma City Thunder
Despite some in-fighting between Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, the Thunder are an impressive 4-0 already.

2. Miami Heat
The Heat, 3-0, look like they will have a dominant season.

3. Portland Trail Blazers
The Blazers have won by an average of 11.7 points in their three games.

4. Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks have two blowout victories in their two games so far this season.

5. Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets looked great in their two wins and lost a close game to the Blazers.

6. Indiana Pacers
The Pacers are undefeated and appear to be a sleeper in the Eastern Conference.

7. San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs had two good wins to begin the season before getting beaten by the Rockets.

8. Los Angeles Lakers
While the Lakers are only 2-2, they’ve played relatively well in all of their games.

9. Chicago Bulls
The Bulls are still building their chemistry but they’ll be there in the end.

Forget Chris Paul. The Hornets are undefeated without him.
