Michael Vick hoped to lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl championship. Instead, his Eagles were defeated by the Green Bay Packers on NFL Wild Card Weekend. Fittingly, Vick decided the game for the Eagles — and not in a good way. With 33 seconds remaining, Vick threw an interception to end Philadelphia’s season.
With the game 21-16, Vick looked to the end zone but instead his pass was caught by Tramon Williams of the Packers.
Said Vick: “I feel like I got greedy and took a shot at the end zone. I didn’t throw the ball I wanted and got picked. It’s not the way I wanted to go out, but I went down swinging.”
The Packers were led by Aaron Rodgers, who threw three touchdown passes. Vick had a touchdown pass and a touchdown run for the Eagles.
The goat of the game?
David Akers, the kicker for the Eagles. He missed two field goals. The Eagles lost by five points. The math won’t help Akers sleep well at night.
