Michael Vick Injury Update – Fantasy Impact

When fantasy football owners drafted Michael Vick, they had one main worry: Injuries. In Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons, the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles was forced to leave the game after suffering a concussion. In that instant, fantasy football owners around the world saw their worst fears come true.

Concussions are tricky, especially in today’s NFL. Vick will have to pass medical tests to be eligible for a return. How he feels doesn’t really matter; he has to pass the medical tests.

We’ll get a good idea of Vick’s availability for Week 3 by seeing if he practices. If he doesn’t practice, expect the Eagles to play it safe and allow Vick to rest up for a week or two.

Vick’s backup is usually Vince Young, however he too is injured. The third string QB is Mike Kafka. He played relatively well against the Falcons but don’t expect him to be much of a player in the fantasy football world any time soon.
