NBA Obsessed takes you into the hit and run game of NBA Basketball.
The Pistons are getting their act together and maybe just in the nick of time due to the fact that the end of the season is near and the Pistons still have a rock solid chance of making the playoffs if they can just get on a mighty roll.
One way of getting on a roll is getting everyone healthy and on the floor and that looks like it is happening right now.
One of the big question marks all season has been a negative question in the form of who would be dealt away to build this team. Would it be Tayshaun Prince, Richard Hamilton, Rodney Stuckey, or someone else?
Now it appears that having all of them on the team may make the difference that would make them a great team again. Last night Tayshaun and Rip played great in getting a Piston victory over Sacramento.
A noticeable buzz emanated whenever Kings forward Omri Casspi was matched up against Tayshaun Prince and Rip Hamilton.
And the veteran duo delivered, constantly abusing the rookie from Israel by combining for 52 points on 23-for-37 shooting to lead the Pistons (21-35) to an easy 101-89 victory.
“Well, it’s a pretty simple story as far as I can see, we couldn’t stop Prince or Hamilton,” Kings coach Paul Westphal said. “They gave them the lift – particularly at the start of the first half it was Prince, start of the second half it was Hamilton.
“They were going at Omri with Prince and he had his way with him. There’s no other way to put it.”
Prince started out by scoring the Pistons first six points when he was isolated with Casspi. Prince was able to use his superior length and strength to get his shot off whenever he felt like it.

Now if you manage to get past the question of who is going to stay to rebuild this team, then the second question rears its ugly head. Can a team have 3 equal stars all playing guard? This question may have seen a hint of an answer the night before against the Spurs in a big home victory for the Pistons.
The trio gave an example Sunday of why it could work.
They haven’t been together much this season because of injuries to Hamilton and Gordon, but they combined for 68 points Sunday in the Pistons’ 109-101 overtime victory over the Spurs.
“When we’re playing like that, and each guy is a threat, we’re a tough team to beat,” Gordon said.
Gordon had 21 points off the bench, Hamilton scored 27 and Stuckey 20.
They combined to shoot 50 percent (24 of 48).
When those three on the court, along with Tayshaun Prince, it gives a Pistons a variety of options that make it difficult for defenders to help.
“It’s hard to beat us, it’s hard to help off those guys,” Will Bynum said.
“We just have to win find those guys for open shots.”
A key to the trio, said Bynum, is Gordon who had been in a slump until breaking out against the Spurs.
Gordon had one of his better floor games, but was particularly confident and aggressive with his shot.
“I was able to come and get a rhythm,” Gordon said. “Everything looks much better when you’re playing well. I just came out and was efficient.
“I just have to keep doing the right things.”

You know, maybe this Pistons team can win!
