Logan Mankins and the New England Patriots have been haggling over a long-term contract for years. On Wednesday, the two sides reportedly came to an agreement. There aren’t any dollar figure amounts yet but the deal is said to be for six season. Logan Mankins was set to make a little bit more than $10 million this season.
At times, things between Logan Mankins and the Patriots front office got ugly — including the 6-foot-4, 310-pounder sitting out the first half of last season. But now both sides have to be happy. Logan Mankins got the long-term contract he wanted, while New England gets to keep arguably the best offensive lineman in the entire NFL.
All the talk regarding the Patriots has to do with Tom Brady and the new additions of Albert Haynesworth and Chad Ochocinco. But when all is said and done this season, and in the next six seasons, Logan Mankins will probably be as valuable as any player.
