The Liverpool FC Stadium was scheduled to be completed by summer of 2010 but because of the global economic downturn that date will be moved back some. The brand new $600 million stadium was originally going to have a seating capacity of over 60,000 though that number has been significantly raised to include over 73,000 seats.

Proposed Liverpool FC Stadium
Liverpool FC co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks have changed the plans because they believe that they need the extra seats to accommodate the fans and make more money. However the $600 million price tag does not make this project cheap. Gillett and Hicks have had to look for outside investors to help front the enormous debt their club have incurred. Gillett is even selling his prized Montreal Canadians hockey team to help him finance the Liverpool FC.
Well with a seating capacity of over 73,000 it is hoped that they will be able to make their money back with relative ease.
