The Miami Hurricanes college football program is in a lot of trouble. There’s even talk of the NCAA coming down with an SMU-like death penalty on the school. Recently, the first penalties were announced. In all, 12 current players were reprimanded. Of those 12, eight of the players are suspended for at least one game.
Here’s a look at the 12 Miami Hurricane players who face penalties for their actions with Nevin Shapiro, a former Miami booster who was recently caught running a Ponzi scheme:
Olivier Vernon – Suspended 6 games, pay $1,200 in restitution
Ray Ray Armstrong – Suspended 4 games, pay $788 in restitution
Dyron Dye – Suspended 4 games, pay $738 in restitution
Jacory Harris – Suspended 1 game, pay $140 in restitution
Sean Spence – Suspended 1 game, pay $275 in restitution
Travis Benjamin – Suspended 1 game, pay $150 in restitution
Marcus Forston – Suspended 1 game, pay $400 in restitution
Adewale Ojomo – Suspended 1 game, pay $240 in restitution
Micanor Regis – Pay less than $100 in restitution
Vaughn Telemaque – Pay less than $100 in restitution
JoJo Nicholas – Pay less than $100 in restitution
Brandon McGee – Pay less than $100 in restitution
The Miami Hurricanes start their season on Monday night against Maryland. As you can see, they’ll be short a number of players.
