LeBron James Burns Magic for 51 Points

LeBron James hasn’t had to score as much this season as he did when he was carrying the Cleveland Cavaliers. On Thursday night, however, LeBron’s scoring keyed the Miami Heat’s 104-100 victory over the Orlando Magic. LeBron finished with 51 points on 17-for-25 shooting from the field and 14-for-17 shooting from the free throw line.

In addition to his scoring, LeBron had 11 rebounds and eight assists. Dwyane Wade chipped in 14 points and four rebounds, while Chris Bosh had 13 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Leading by as many as 23 points, the Heat almost last their lead in the fourth quarter when the Magic caught fire from three-point range and made a furious rally. In fact, the Magic at one point in the final period had a chance to tie the game with a made three-pointer.

Explained LeBron: “We just let our guard down. We can’t do that as a veteran ball club.”

The Magic were led by Jameer Nelson’s 22 poits and six assists. Dwight Howard had 17 points and 16 rebounds, however he was just 3-for-13 from the free-throw line.

The win improved the Heat to 35-14, while the Magic dropped to 31-19.
