When Lawrence Taylor was arrested on May 6th and charged with third-degree rape, endangering the welfare of a child and patronizing a prostitute, it appeared as if he was headed to the slammer. On Thursday, Lawrence Taylor reached a plea bargain that allows his to avoid jail time. In the plea bargain, Taylor had to plead guilty to sexual misconduct and soliciting a prostitute.
The incident, which involved a 16-year-old runaway, had Taylor facing more than four years in jail. Due to his guilty pleas, Taylor will have to register as a sex offender and will be on probation for six years. Additionally, the ex-NFL superstar with the New York Giants has to pay $1,300 in court fees.
Another person, Rasheed Davis, faces a charge of sex trafficking in connection with the same incident. According to reports, Davis allegedly forced the 16-year-old runaway into prostitution.
