July 26th Louisiana Downs Recap

Sloppy and off the turf on Sunday. Fair surface upgraded to muddy by race 5.

Jason Eads and Jose Riquelme both booted home a pair.

My best bet Hungarian Cat scratched, and my longshot play of the day Doctor La took some action and finished an even 4th. Next time on a fast track. Got one chalky top home, and my 2nd and 3rd choices nabbed six races.

Martin's Bay - Louisiana Downs

Big win by Martin’s Bay in the 8th race, an off the turf extended sprint. She could be headed to the local stakes ranks next, and note that she handles any footing.

July 30th Preview

Thursday’s 9-race card features three grass races, but we have had plenty of rain recently, so the turf events are likely to be transferred. Pick 6 was hit on Sunday.

Mary Catherine is my longshot play of the day in the 3rd. She galloped out smartly after a poor start in her local bow, and she could go much better 2nd time out.

Miss Lewis is my best bet in the 5th. She has run well in last seven outings and should save all of the ground before pouncing in the lane.
